The text below is taken from the 'For Your Information' column by Jim Groves, which appeared in the BSFA's VECTOR, this instance being from VECTOR 31 March 1965.  I'm reluctant to insert the information given in it as absolute fact as Groves gives no indication as to where he derived it. Of course being a lot closer to the events in 1965 than in 2025 he may have got it from reliable sources no longer easily available. In any event, some of it is certainly congruent with what is already known from elsewhere, so it may indeed all be correct. The world may never know.

Question from R.O Richards - Can you tell me something about the International Fantasy Award (full title The Annual Award for Artistic-Merit in Creative Fantasy)? The only information I have comes from two back issues of ASTOUNDING (BRE Feb 1954 & Nov 1958). Can you tell me the winners of this Award?

Answer (Jim Groves) - The International Fantasy Award was originated by four British SF fans for the 1951 British Convention and it was awarded yearly thereafter until 1957. Awards were made for fiction and nonfiction and took the form of model spaceship lighters. The winners were selected by a panel of judges from America, Britain and the Continent. The winners are as follows:
